What is a Hobbit party?
A Hobbit party is a celebration inspired by the charming and simple lifestyle of Hobbits from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, typically around or on September 22nd "Hobbit Day". It involves good food, music, fellowship, and a touch of whimsy, all set in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Expect to embrace the joy of community, share in hearty laughter, and perhaps indulge in some pipe-smoking like the Longbottoms of olde!
What is a harvest party?
A harvest party is a festive gathering that celebrates the bounty of the season. It's often held in the fall when crops are harvested. It’s a time to come together with friends and family, share a grand feast, and give thanks for the abundance of nature. Our harvest party, with its Tolkien-themed twist, combines the warmth of this tradition with the magic of Middle-earth.
What should I bring?
The only things you need to bring to have a fantastic time are a lawn chair and a dish to share. If you don't have either, you're still more than welcome to join us! You can also bring drinks to share—whether it’s your favorite bottle or a growler.
Is there a dress code?
Nope! But costumes or fanciful attire are encouraged! Embrace your inner hobbit or come as your favorite Middle-earth character.
What time do you think I should arrive?
The party begins at 6:00 pm, with grace said at 6:30 pm. Feel free to arrive a little early if you’d like to settle in and mingle.
Will there be parking available?
Parking will be limited, so please be mindful and respectful of the neighbors when finding a spot. Carpooling or walking, if possible, is encouraged.
Can I bring my children?
Of course! The event is family-friendly, with activities for all ages to enjoy.
What if it rains?
We have a plan for inclement weather! The party will be moved indoors, so the celebration will continue regardless of the weather.
Do I need to RSVP?
No RSVP is needed! However, telling others you're coming certainly helps build excitement and anticipation for the event!
Who else is going to be there?
Some people will be there as fans of The Lord of the Rings, but mostly, it will be made up of old and new friends who are looking to relax and ring in the new fall season. The party is in its ninth year since its inception and has ranged in attendance from 13 to 73!
